Young and the Restless  early weekly spoilers for January 5th through the 9th have Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) doing a sneak attack and Ian Ward (Ray Wise) returns.

As we always do on early edition day, we talk about what’s coming the rest of this week, then dive into what is coming next week.

Young and the Restless Early Weekly Spoilers: Adam & Sally Spend NYE Together

On Wednesday, December 31st, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) are chatting while picking up takeout when Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Chelsea Lawson Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) are elsewhere. They wind up eating together, sharing the food. Sally is pressing Adam on helping end the Newman-Abbott War and telling him that she knows that Adam knows right from wrong. Sally thinks Adam takes the easy way out with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

Then they talk about Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and change the subject away from work. They talk about how well Adam and Chelsea are doing and how happy they are. Sally is being very nice about all that, but Adam is being not so nice about her and Billy. Adam says he’s just worried that Billy is going to hurt Sally. They do resolve to be friends in 2026.

Young and the Restless New Year’s Eve Fireworks and Resolutions

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) talks to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) about her dad’s awfulness and his split from Claire Grace Newman (Hayley Erin), which he blames on himself. Kyle thinks the Newmans should stand up to Victor, but she basically says he knows how they feel and doesn’t care. He’s going to keep doing what he’s doing and they can’t stop him. Kyle agrees that his dad, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), did sometimes keep the rivalry going with Victor. In the end, Victoria promises to try and help find a way to broker peace between the families by working from her side of it.

Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) tells Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) left the mental health clinic without telling her and left the state completely. The only reason Tessa knows is because she was tracking her on an app. She says that Mariah even avoided a video call with their daughter for Christmas, which is terrible. Basically, Tessa has had enough. She’s ready to move on. So, she and Daniel start making out. Then they head to what looks like his place, and she and Daniel are going to make love.

Cane Clears the Air with Lily

Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) comes to see Cane and says that she wants to be clear. She didn’t mean to give him false hope by taking him to the Abbottcom launch party as her plus one. He wants to know why she’s saying all this. Lily confirms that she saw Cane and Phyllis Summers kissing and then calls him a liar because, if you remember, Cane said he was completely done with Phyllis.

Lily’s annoyed and she says Cane is the same as Phyllis, hungry for money and power—just greedy and terrible. Cane says he stopped the kiss and he tossed Phyllis out. Cane says if Lily had stuck around, she would have seen that. He insists he’s not lying. Cane says Phyllis is plotting to isolate him from everybody else so she can use him for her own goals. Cane says he will never love anybody else but Lily and he knows she still wants him. Then Cane kisses Lily and she kisses back on New Year’s. But that doesn’t mean things aren’t going to be easy from here on out.

Victor Newman’s “Ba Humbug” Classic Holiday Return on Young and the Restless

Thursday, January 1st, we head into the new year with an old episode. It’s a repeat of a classic from December 25th, 2010, where Victor Newman got the whole Christmas Carol treatment. Victoria called her dad Scrooge and Victor was literally saying “bah humbug.”

Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) brought Victor a gift, but he wasn’t interested. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) tried to get him to be with the family, but he was rejecting them all. Victor told the ranch staff they all had to work on Christmas Day or else.

Then he gets ghostly visits from his dead dad, from Adam’s mom, Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman), and from his dying mother, among others. Victor learned a lesson 15 years ago in that episode. But has long since forgotten it because he’s back to being a Scrooge this year.

Young and the Restless: Mariah’s Ian Ward Visions and the Search for Sienna

Friday, January 2nd, we’ve got the first new episode of the new year. Daniel makes Tessa a promise. I wonder if Daniel’s going to tell her that she can trust him. If something changes with Tessa and Mariah, even though they made love, Daniel will respect Tessa’s choice if she wants to go back to Mariah. I think he wants her to feel like even though this happened and he wanted it, he doesn’t have expectations that things might change because of her marriage.

It’s also go-time on Friday for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victor’s plan to handle Matt. I wonder if we’re going to see Detective Burrow (Matt Cohen) as part of that plan. Mariah is out of the clinic and out of the state, but she’s still not doing well and she’s having visions of Ian Ward again on Young and the Restless.

Or I will say, let’s hope that Mariah is just having visions of Ian and it’s not the real deal because we all know he’s alive. People in Genoa City do not. Tessa is upset, of course, because Mariah checked herself out of the clinic and took off and hasn’t said a word to anybody.

Phyllis Summers Plots Revenge in Y&R Weekly Spoilers

The week of January 5th through the 9th, Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) is panicking because he knows Matt could kill Sienna at any time. Noah may not give Nick and Victor’s plan a chance to work before he goes rogue. Sally is settling into the role of CEO of Abbottcom, but she’s still quite worried that Billy won’t stay on the straight and narrow and that he might veer off chasing revenge on Victor again. After that scene this week with Jack and Billy arguing with Victor at Society, I can definitely see Billy spiraling out again.

Detective Burrow is on the case, but Sienna is in danger. She’s drugged unconscious and Dirty Detective Annie is ready to kill Sienna if Matt tells her to. He’s still trying to decide if he is going to let Noah and Sienna live at all or if he wants them both dead. Bottom line, I think Matt wants all the Newmans dead, including Noah and his cheating wife, Sienna. I also wonder if there’s going to be some element of danger where Matt has taken off.

Danger Coming to Genoa City?

When he was a fentanyl dealer, I’m sure he was a middle management guy. That means he probably answered to some cartel or something. It would be kind of interesting if danger followed them in that way to Genoa City from Los Angeles. We’ve got Billy and Jack very hopeful that one of their contingency plans will work to get the AI out of Victor’s hands. And of course, as I expected, Nikki totally bowed out and went back to enabling Victor.

She’s making Jack promises about how Victor’s love for her will stop him. No, it won’t. That was crazy talk. I knew that Nikki was going to cave and just do the usual things she does—head in the sand and ignoring his monstrous ways. Phyllis, meanwhile, is ready to take action. She is mad at Victor for screwing her over. She is upset that Jack reneged on the Marchetti deal because he can’t trust Phyllis. She’s mad at Cane for kicking her out.

So, looks like Phyllis is going to make a big move soon to get what she wants, which is the AI and revenge and the man she’s got her eye on, which is Cane. Adam has to deal with Chelsea’s ultimatum about Victor. Michael Baldwin (Christian Jules Leblanc) pledged his loyalty to Victor, but I don’t know if Michael can be bought with one antique Roman coin.
