The mystery pregnant woman sharing Max Branning’s bed has set EastEnders viewers’ tongues wagging following a tantalising flashforward episode.
In the New Year’s Day’s episode, Max woke up in 2027 and turned to find a woman beside him, though her face remained hidden from view.
She’s clearly expecting, tenderly stroking her growing bump, whilst the camera revealed a baby scan and prenatal vitamins nearby.
Whilst the woman’s identity stayed under wraps, the scene strongly suggested Max is anticipating fatherhood with this enigmatic partner, given his beaming expression towards her.
The glimpse also showed Max with formal wear hanging ready, hinting at nuptials on the horizon. Though little else is disclosed about the scenario, viewers reckon they’ve cracked the code regarding the mystery bedmate’s identity.

Only recently, she hinted at finding him rather appealing, leading fans to suspect this was the telltale sign she’d be the woman in question.
Posting their theories on social platforms in response to the teaser, viewers picked up on what sounded like the woman’s sigh. One supporter commented: “Sounds like Chelsea that does.”
Another viewer concurred: “Sounds like Chelsea,” whilst a third observed: “Honestly it kinda sounds like Chelsea sighing.”
An additional remark stated: “That’s Chelsea sighing.”

The speculation continued to pour in with another comment stating: “Gotta be Chelsea, she’s not been in a big story line for a while.”
One viewer declared: “Priya or Chelsea definitely involved!”.
Another remarked: “That sounded like Chelsea,” whilst a fan confessed: “Oh, that sounds like Chelsea!” A final observation read: “That’s got to be Chelsea in bed with Max Branning in 2027.”
Other names being suggested included Linda Carter, Cindy Beale and Stacey Slater. Additional fans wondered whether it might be Nicola Mitchell or Priya Nandra-Hart.
Hinting at what lies ahead, Executive Producer Ben Wadey, who joined the soap in 2024, revealed to the Mirror that characters in the spotlight include Harry Mitchell, Joel Marshall and Vicki Fowler.
