When Ross accessed his son’s laptop in the wake of the incident, he found a folder of videos that he handed over to the police, including footage of Joel injuring Vicki.

Another of these videos was of Avani, and in today’s episode social services and the police arrived in Walford to talk to the teenager about the recording.

Avani was distraught to learn that not only had Joel secretly filmed her, but that he put the video online and the authorities hadn’t yet been able to take it down.

This led to Ross having to admit that he knew his son was making these illicit recordings – including the video of Avani – months ago and didn’t step in before things escalated further.

Ross was desperate for him and Vicki to stick together after Joel’s appearance in court, but she was clear that their relationship was over.

There was another major blow for Ross when he returned home to find that Zack had thrown all his possessions into some bin bags.

He discovered that Sharon had been filled in on the situation and she wanted him out of the house for good before Vicki returned home from hospital.
