Shock arrest made in Coronation Street following deadly crash that kills major characters
The mother of all soap stunts crashes onto our screens in the form of Corriedale, the dark and gripping lovechild of Coronation Street and Emmerdale that we never knew we needed.
It’s a stunt-packed super-ep featuring major characters from both soaps such as Coronation Street Legends David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), and Carla Connor (Alison King), while joining us from t’Dales there’s Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
All these beloved fan favourites will have their worlds collide in a horrifying car crash in the dead of night… dead being the operative word. At least one character will meet a sticky end.
But you can’t have soap death without soap justice, so Coronation Street has revealed that one unlucky resident will be taking a compulsory trip to Weatherfield police station to face charges. The question is…who?

First up, it’s the unusual suspect herself, Becky Swain (Amy Cudden).
The bunny-boiling bad cop’s the cat that got the cream in this episode, having finally persuaded her ex-wife Lisa (Vicky Myers) to reconcile and start afresh abroad with their daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin). With a heavy heart, Lisa’s accepted only because Carla’s called time on their relationship and has swanned off on holiday to Lanzarote…only she hasn’t.
Detective Constable Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) found Carla’s disappearance very fishy…and he didn’t get that ‘Awesome Police Officer’ coffee mug for nothing. He suspects Becky’s involvement in Carla’s disappearance and resolves to track her down, eventually finding her.
But by the time Kit finds Carla, though, Becky’s already driving Lisa and Betsy to the port in Hull to catch a ferry. So begins frantic car chase number one. Desperate, Carla makes a phone call to Lisa, who picks up. But as soon as Becky realises who’s on the line, she takes her eyes off the road for a split second too long…with devastating results.
Will Psycho Swain go down for reckless driving and manslaughter…or will Carla carry the can?

Corriedale is literally bringing a busload of drama to this episode as Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) and Ronnie Bailey’s (Vinta Morgan) wedding party is being driven back from the venue by none other than the Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank). Does he cause the crash?
It has to be distracting, with the cast of characters he’s ferrying, half-drunkenly singing romantic songs. You can’t exactly blot that lot out with Radio 4.
But the source of Billy’s distraction could be something far darker. Having finally witnessed the horrifying CCTV footage of the abuse Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) has been suffering, he agrees to give him a lift home after the wedding so he can move his stuff out of the flat before Theo Silverton’s (James Cartwright) gets back. After months of physical and emotional abuse, Todd has finally found the strength to leave and his old friend Billy couldn’t be more supportive.
