The cobbles of Coronation Street is without doubt one of the most iconic sets in television history. The terraced houses in Weatherfield have provided the backdrop of some of TV’s most dramatic moments in the 65 years since the show premiered in 1960.

Although we may be familiar with seeing the onscreen counterparts of our favourite soap actors in their Weatherfield surroundings, we wanted to take a look at how the live away from Coronation Street. Fortunately, the soaps stars live out much less dramatic existences than the characters they are so synonymous with on the ITV show.

The soap stars often give fans an insight into their lives away from the screen by sharing regular updates on their social media channels. Alan Halsall has provided glimpses into his luxury mansion and Claire Sweeney splits her time between two luxury houses in Liverpool and London.

The soap stars have helped paint a picture of their glamorous lives outside of the humble Cobbles and we’ve rounded up a selection of some of the the most plush pads from our favourite Corrie actors:

Claire Sweeney

Scouse star Claire has previously told the ECHO how she splits her time between Liverpool and London. She shared snaps from her Merseyside home yesterday as she celebrated with her son, Jaxon.

Claire is incredibly proud of her Merseyside roots and has showed our sister site, OK!, around her amazing property on the Liverpool waterfront.

Claire first bought her home when she was in Brookside and is still just as in love with it now as she was in the 90s. She said: “I just feel so grateful for things. I’m blessed that at 52 I still love what I do and I’ve got my son and my house. I feel great.”

Claire’s beautiful home has a very contemporary feel thanks to its high ceilings, white and exposed brickwork. Claire gave OK! a glimpse into her bedroom, which features a large brick arch which creates a cosy alcove at the foot of her bed.

The ornate living room is adorned with majestic purple and gold wallpaper. Claire’s home was formerly a flour warehouse and boasts beautiful views of the Liverpool waterfront from the living room.

Alan Halsall

It’s been a big year for the Tyrone Dobbs actor as he stepped out for the first time with his new partner. He confirmed his romance with HR coordinator Ellie Dolan in May, sharing a photo with a love heart emoji in the caption.

The past 12 months have come off the back of an equally big 2024 when he competed on I’m A Celebrity. The 43-year-old will have missed his home comforts while in Australia as he has previously wowed fans with glimpses of his incredible home.

The Corrie legend lives with daughter Sienna Rae, who he shares with his ex-wife, Hollyoaks’ Lucy Jo Hudson. The house is a huge white mansion, with grey doors and window frames, plus a large balcony on the first floor and several glass doors that lead out into the garden. In the garden itself, Alan has an enormous inflatable pool, as well as a large outdoor seating area and a wide patio area and lawn where his daughter Sienna can play.

The interior design scheme inside the house is understated and classy, with a neutral colour palette used throughout the property.
