HOTTES NEWS TODAY!!! Emmerdale icon lands role in Hollywood movie and makes TV history after quitting soap

A former Emmerdale star has made a major career leap from the Dales to Hollywood.

Alexander Lincoln first graced our screens as Kim Tate’s (Claire King) son, Jamie Tate, back in 2019 and quickly became a fan favourite.

His character was involved in several high-profile storylines, including his tumultuous relationship with Kim and becoming a father with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham).

However, in 2021, Alexander bid farewell to the soap, with his character Jamie last seen faking his own death in a car crash. Believing her son had died, Kim was left in the dark as Jamie secretly moved in with his daughter Millie and her grandmother.

Since leaving Emmerdale, Alexander has been keeping busy with roles in BBC soap Doctors, comedy-drama series Everything I Know About Love, and the award-winning film In from the Side, reports the Daily Star.

In an exciting turn of events, Alexander has also landed a role in a groundbreaking Hollywood film, The Groomsmen: Second Chances, which is the Hallmark Channel’s first-ever gay wedding story film.

In the film, Alexander portrays Zack, and it was released last week in the US. He shares the screen with stars such as Mean Girls’ Jonathan Bennett, B..J. Britt, and Owen Davis.

The plot revolves around Danny (Jonathan Bennett), who travels to Greece to plan his friend and business manager Zack’s (Alexander Lincoln) wedding to a lawyer. However, Danny soon realises he’s fallen for Zack.

Leading man Jonathan recently shared a heartfelt tribute on his Instagram, praising his co-star Alexander’s performance. He wrote: “Alex Lincoln appreciation post: Alex you are the true star of The Groomsmen Second Chances.

“When I set out to tell the first gay wedding story on Hallmark, I knew that this role would be crucial to the film success. Alex has the thing you can’t explain, he has that ‘it factor’ that makes you love him from the moment he walks into a room, or walks one screen.”

The actor went on to say: “His acting is superbly grounded and raw and real and it makes you lean forward in your seat to watch what he’s saying. This movie couldn’t have turned out the way it did without this man, he was the glue that helped glue The Groomsmen together.

“Not only does he make us belly laugh daily on set, but he lights up the screen with such a different energy that keeps my character grounded. It’s no wonder he’s becoming a super star in the industry because when you’ve got it, you’ve got it.

“I will forever be grateful to you, Alex, for coming into our film universe and helping make history at Hallmark and making all of us shine.”
