EastEnders baby plot aftermath revealed as Heather Peace teases big future for Suki and Eve

After breaking ground with EastEnders’ first-ever lesbian wedding earlier this year, Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) are preparing to make history again — this time as they navigate their emotional and complicated journey to parenthood.

The newlyweds’ relationship has already been tested to its limits by the recent Avani baby storyline, which saw Suki offer to raise her granddaughter’s child, only for Eve to secretly support Avani’s decision to have a termination. The fallout briefly tore the fan-favourite couple apart — but now, they’re rebuilding stronger than ever.EastEnders fans in tears at Heather Peace's heartbreakingly sad post as viewers say goodbye to Eve Unwin

“The adoption journey is just beginning”

Speaking exclusively to Inside SoapHeather Peace confirmed that Suki and Eve’s family dreams are far from over.

“When Eve committed to the Avani baby situation, she meant it,” Heather explained. “So now that can of worms has been opened and Eve’s considered the idea of being a mum, she can’t put a lid back on it. We’ve got some great stuff coming up as well — not just with the adoption.”

The storyline marks another milestone for EastEnders, tackling LGBTQ+ family planning with the same honesty and emotional complexity that defined Suki and Eve’s romance.

Eve’s moral compass leads the way

Despite the turmoil caused by Eve’s decision to side with Avani, Heather says her character acted out of compassion and principle.

“Eve has her morals in line — she might blow up at times, but that’s only ever at bad people,” Heather said. “She needed Suki to see how serious the situation with Avani was, and I think Eve will always call her out when she needs to. I’d like to see them have more in-depth conversations, and maybe even some counselling.”

Their split may have been brief, but it gave both women time to reflect. According to Heather, the experience will shape how they approach their next chapter as partners — and potentially as parents. The Temptation of Eve: The Heather Peace WLW storyline we've ALL been waiting for -

“They’re soul mates — but they need the drama!”

Although the couple is currently enjoying some long-overdue happiness, Heather teased that peace might not last forever.

“Me and Bal do angst quite well!” she laughed. “We’re not sure about them all loved up like this — we like to see them pining after each other. So let’s think of lots of ways we can create a ruckus without them having an affair, because I don’t think that’s believable.”

Still, fans can rest assured that “SuEve” aren’t going anywhere. Heather described the pair as “soul mates”, confirming that despite the bumps in the road, their bond remains unbreakable.Exclusive: EastEnders star Heather Peace explains major change in Suki and Eve story

What’s next for Suki and Eve?

With EastEnders show bosses teasing that the couple’s adoption journey will face emotional highs and lows, viewers can expect a deeply human storyline exploring love, loss, and resilience.

As Heather put it:

“This isn’t just about the baby — it’s about two women trying to build a life that’s truly theirs, after everything they’ve been through.”
