Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh shares baby announcement as she praises ‘warrior’ daughter’

Kym Marsh, the former Coronation Street favourite, couldn’t contain her excitement as she revealed the birth of her fourth grandchild on Christmas Day through a heartfelt social media post.

The 49 year old star, renowned for playing Michelle Connor, shared the wonderful announcement on Instagram, paying tribute to her daughter Emilie Cunliffe and son-in-law Mikey in an emotional message.

“Well what a wonderful Christmas gift this is! !” Kym wrote, accompanying a collection of photographs showing the newborn alongside his brothers and sisters. Revealing the baby’s name, she continued: “Welcome to the world Bobby Saint Mykola Hoszowskyj! ! !”.

“He’s so beautiful! So so proud of my girl Emilie she is a warrior! ! And of my son in law Mikey for being her rock today! We are all in love! ! Merry Christmas everyone.”

Unsurprisingly, Kym’s supporters rushed to send their congratulations, with former Hear’Say colleague Danny Foster responding with a red heart emoji, reports OK!

“What a beautiful Christmas gift. Congratulations to you all,” wrote one fan. Another added: “Huge congratulations to you all.”

Replying to one message, Kym disclosed further information regarding Bobby’s arrival, stating: “He was 7lb 6oz she had a very quick birth. Got in the hospital at 10.25 and he was here at 10.35 hahah”.

The Waterloo Road star, who lovingly answers to ‘Yaya’, already has three other grandchildren—Emilie’s son Teddy and step-daughter Polly, plus her son David’s boy, Clay.

While Kym is best known for her role as Michelle Connor in Corrie, she has branched out into other roles since leaving the soap in 2019, including playing Nicky Walters in the BBC’s school drama, Waterloo Road.

More recently, she appeared in Channel 5’s thriller The Imposter, alongside Neighbours icon Jackie Woodburne and singer Dannii Minogue, with filming taking place down under in Melbourne, Australia.

Since departing from Weatherfield, Kym has also tread the boards in a variety of plays and musicals, such as Fatal Attraction, 101 Dalmatians and Abigail’s Party.

In the New Year, Kym is gearing up to tour the UK once more in a stage adaptation of Single White Female, alongside EastEnders star and TV chef Lisa Faulkner.

Her daughter Emilie is also no stranger to the spotlight, having starred with her mum in the UK tour of Greatest Days: The Musical. In this jukebox musical, which features the music of Take That, Emilie portrayed a younger version of Kym’s character.
