Coronation Street star opens up on worst year of her life

Coronation Street’s Georgia May Foote has said 2025 was the worst year of her life. The soap star is renowned for her former role as Katy Armstrong on the Cobbles.
Georgia quit the show in 2015 and her character has since been killed off off-screen. The 34-year-old regularly shares updates from her life on Instagram and has taken to social media to reflect on a difficult past 12 months. She said: “Nope. Worst year I’ve ever had in my life.
“I don’t even want to get into why it was so awful. But when the fire happened I really didn’t think it could get any worse. Then the stress of this year just sent my vitiligo wild. I really lost all my confidence.
“But if I have learnt one thing from all of this. I’m a fighter. I am so strong. So resilient. I give 12059% into everything I do. The fact I still stand here now, smiling and getting through every day says so much to myself about who I am. No matter what people try and make you think.”It’s ok to cry. It’s ok to feel let down. It’s ok to feel hurt. But sometimes, you have to tell yourself, one day I WILL have the life I deserve because I am kind. That will be enough. “Please be kind to others. Please stay strong if you are struggling. Life is hard. But we only get the one. So love deeply. Be loved. And just try and find a little happiness in everyday. Whatever that may be to you.”
Georgie married musician Kris Evans, but it has been reported the two have since split as she has wiped pictures of the producer from his social media.
Soap stars such as Tina O’Brien and Laura Norton took to the comments to send messages of support after the update.
Former Emmerdale actor Tom Lister said: “Loads of love for you G. Keep smiling and being you. New Year New Chapter.”
Others took to the comments to wish Georgia well after the update. Becki added: “You are kind and caring. Sending you love and lots of happiness in 2026. Xx”
