Coronation Street reveals sad Debbie secret in tragic death story

Debbie Webster’s hen party has been marred by tragedy in her harrowing ongoing dementia storyline.
Tonight’s episode of Coronation Street begun with Carl Webster looking at his phone and smirking as he checked his bank balance, having transferred some money from Debbie’s account, taking advantage of his half-sister.
Abi Franklin said she might swerve attending Debbie’s hen do, given her explosive split from Kevin Webster, while Debbie was excitedly planning her big day.
Ronnie Bailey let slip that the girls had planned a hen party for Debbie, and she feigned enthusiam saying it “sounds good”, and they should “bring it on.”
Sally Metcalfe, Christina Boyd, Glenda Shuttleworth, and Bernie Winter all eagerly awaited the bride’s arrival, and Abi, when she eventually arrived awkwardly, while the groom and his stags enjoyed their own festivities.
Kevin stormed out of the party when Carl arrived, and the mood turned further south when Ronnie revealed he’d got an appointment with a solicitor as Debbie wanted him to have power of attorney over her finances, striking fear into Carl.
His face fell further when he answered his phone, asking the caller to “say that again” and appearing shellshocked.
The hens began to wonder where Debbie was when Bernie received a call from her, revealing that she was in Leeds “picking up something for the wedding” and couldn’t join them.
A third phone call brought more mystery to the ITV soap, as Abi rushed from the party after Carl phoned her.
Carl was left devastated by the news, wondering why his mum did not tell him she was dying of cancer and lamenting the fact that he had not had a chance to say goodbye to her.
Debbie explained to Ronnie, she “just forgot to tell him” and “with everything going on, it just went out of her head.”
She protested that she couldn’t tell Carl as he would never forgive her, and she beged Ronnie not to say anything as she felt “really terrible”.
He assured her that it wasn’t her fault and she didn’t do it on purpose… but Carl may not be that understanding.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
