Coronation Street fans believe they’ve figured out Abi Webster’s next romantic entanglement on the cobbles.

Abi, portrayed by Sally Carman-Duttine, has had a tumultuous year since her introduction to the long-running ITV soap back in 2017.

Her husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell) was diagnosed with testicular cancer, and his long-lost brother Carl (Jonathan Howard), who had been residing in Germany for years, also made an unexpected return to Weatherfield.

Adding to the drama, Carl has been involved in shady car theft schemes, which resulted in Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) sustaining serious injuries after being hit by a stolen vehicle.

Last week, it became clear that Carl had no intention of settling down with Abi as he resumed his affair with James. When Abi found James’ necklace on their sofa, she grew suspicious.

After gaining access to Carl’s phone, Abi was devastated to find explicit messages between James and Carl, confirming her worst fears—that he had been unfaithful.

During Monday’s instalment (December 29), Abi kept her cards close to her chest with Carl, coolly informing him she was heading out to the Boxing Day sales. In reality, she sought solace with Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), where she became visibly emotional about Carl’s infidelity.

With the relationship between Abi and Carl seemingly heading for the rocks, viewers reckon they’ve already sussed out who her next love interest will be. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, speculation is rife that Kevin could be the one.

One viewer commented: “How long until Kevin and Abi get back together?” Another added: “I thought that when she found out about James. She’ll go running back.” A third chimed in: “100%”.
