Coronation Street has revealed that a bitter divorce battle between Kevin and Abi Webster is on the cards following the recent revelation she’s been sleeping with his brother Carl. But is she just being manipulated by her new fella?

Tonight’s episode started with Abi moving her stuff into Roy Cropper’s, and while no-one was enamoured with the situation, Abi was sure it’d only be temporary as she had just interviewed for a new garage job and was sure she’d get it.

However, she soon found out over that phone that she hadn’t, and when she was told the reason why, she angrily stormed out, stating she “need[s] to smash someone’s head in”.

Barging her way into Kevin’s house, she asked why she was suddenly “no longer the right fit” for the job after the garage received her referencing, implying that her estranged husband had ruined her chances.

Kevin showed her an email that Jack had sent to the garage from his account, warning them Abi was “deffo” not to be trusted.

When Kevin found out, he had a go at Jack for it, and the teenager said he wouldn’t do it again, but refused to apologise. That revelation left Abi stunned.

In The Rovers, Abi bemoaned her situation to Carl, which famous homewrecker Tracy Barlow overheard and couldn’t help but get in on.

“What are you doing, just rolling over and letting Kevin take the lot? He’s got a nice house, successful business, and you’re entitled to half of that if you divorced,” she said. Abi told her to go away, but Carl’s eyes had lit up.

Back at Roy’s, Carl planted ideas in Abi’s head about getting their own place and all the things they could buy for it, before mentioning that he thinks Tracy had a point.

“You have to [divorce him] sooner or later, might be better to rip the plaster off now,” he said, adding that once it’s done with, the two of them and Alfie can finally move forward together.

Given Carl’s many lies and selfish nature, is he just trying to destroy Kevin and get his hands on his money and business? Either way, Debbie already told Kevin last week to lawyer up, so if/when this divorce battle kicks off, you just know it’ll be dramatic.
