Casualty fans rejoice! The BBC soap is returning to our screens after an extended break – and you don’t have long to wait.

The last season ended on an almighty cliffhanger with Ngozi Okoye seemingly left for dead when she suffered a devastating head injury following a relapse in her sobriety journey.

With her life left in the balance and her plans to leave Holby for a new life in Nigeria with her son Obi, fans will soon have the answers they crave after soap bosses confirmed the show’s return.

Another added: “About time too, we have waited long enough for Casualty to come back.”Casualty confirms series return date after extended break - and it's very soon

However, many pointed out that this return date means we won’t be getting the annual Casualty Christmas special.

“I’ve been waiting for Strictly to finish so Casualty would resume! Gutted there won’t be an Xmas special 😢,” a third penned.

Another commented: “Christmas special?? But still so excited for it to return!!!”

It comes after it was announced that the soap would be changing location from Bristol to Wales, having been filmed at Cardiff’s Roath Lock Studios since 2011.
