‘I met David Beckham as a child – he showed his true colours with incredible gesture’

Lucien, 33, has become an international star since appearing on Netflix’s Emily in Paris.The Burnley-born actor admits he was only initially scheduled to make a brief cameo in the hit series, but has now spent four series portraying British banker Alfie. Before joining the show he had appeared in British TV classics such as Grange Hill, Coronation Street and Waterloo Road.

He had already decided he wanted to act after being inspired by bedtime stories told by his mother and his younger brother’s reaction to watching The Lion King. “His whole face just lit up, he was in tears going through this whole f***ing emotional rollercoaster,” Lucien told The Times.Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd talks character's future on soap |  Radio Times

Lucien has now revealed that it was former England captain David that helped him get his foot through the door as an actor. The pair met on a photoshoot for Marks and Spencer when Lucien was just 10 years old.
