EastEnders has confirmed a major revelation about Zoe Slater’s adopted child, and it completely changes the future of the storyline. As Kat pushes her daughter for the truth, concerned about her suspicious behaviour, Zoe drops a bombshell about her son that she wasn’t expecting…

This week, Kat reached breaking point when she realised that Zoe had stolen from the pub till to pay for a new private investigator to help find her son.

Kat followed her to the meeting, but was confused that Zoe was evasive about some of the PI’s questions as she claimed that she didn’t know who the father of her child is, despite previously saying it was Dennis.

With tensions at an all-time high, Kat told Alfie that she might have to tell Zoe to find somewhere else to live – but Zoe overheard this.

Kat and Zoe continued to scrap in today’s episode and Alfie attempted to play peacemaker. But they were all interrupted by Bert and Ernie, who claimed that there was a ghost in the barrel store.

When Zoe investigated, to the amusement of Kat and Alfie, she heard a meow and realised that there was a kitten trapped in the sewer pipe.

Zoe insisted that the animal needed to be saved, so they opened up the pipe and Kat, Alfie and Zoe bonded as they tackled the vile smell in their rescue mission.

After saving the cute cat, Kat realised that Zoe had overheard her talking about living arrangements.

She made it clear to her daughter that she would always have a place to stay at the pub – but demanded to know why she was behaving shiftily at the meeting with the investigator.

While Kat was keen for Zoe to wait for Sharon to return to Walford before she continued her investigation, Zoe couldn’t bear to wait any longer to find her son.

Zoe said that it had nothing to do with Sharon, and she was forced to admit that she had previously told a huge lie about her child’s paternity.

“What I said earlier about not knowing who the father of my son is,” she said, “it ain’t really Dennis Rickman.”
