EastEnders‘ Suki and Eve Panesar-Unwin kick off their mission to adopt a child next week. However, as the chaotic Panesar family put the couple’s first meeting with the adoption agency at risk, a bigger problem threatens to stand in the way of their hopes of starting a family…

“Suki and Eve are understandably worried about the adoption process,” explains our Walford source. “Not only is Eve an ex-con, but Suki also has her fair share of family baggage!

“And with Ravi’s dirty dealings a ticking timebomb just waiting to explode, the extended family could jeopardise everything…”

As the week begins, loved-up Suki and Eve prepare to meet some adoptive parents to see if it’s the life they truly want. As the nerves kick in about making a good impression, Ravi, Priya and the kids return from their holiday.

Their arrival is far from ideal, and chaos ensues in front of the other parents. This isn’t the calm and grown-up meeting Suki and Eve hoped to host, but whatever happens, they decide to forge ahead.

The next day, the couple plan to meet with an adoption agency to discuss next steps. Despite what happened the day before, the rest of the family give Suki and Eve their full support. But a new problem arises concerning Eve…

“The meeting with the agency is a huge success!” shares our insider. “This should be reason to celebrate, but there’s still a question mark over the future. Before Eve can be considered, she must provide a reference – from her bigoted mum.”

Eve is filled with panic when she learns their whole journey hinges on supportive words from her mother.

Their troubled relationship has caused a lot of pain, especially after her mother blamed Eve for her sister’s death. However, it’s her mother’s homophobia that will present Eve with the biggest roadblock to their family plans.

After walking out on her family because of their views, will Eve be able to persuade her mum to support her dreams? Or will this put a stop to her and Suki’s adoption hopes?
