Corriedale fans issue one last plea to bosses after historic special episode
Coronation Street and Emmerdale fans have begged soap bosses for one last thing after the two worlds collided in a special episode that aired on Monday evening

Corriedale fans have begged producers to release deleted scenes from the historic episode. Coronation Street, the world’s longest-running TV soap aired a special crossover with fellow ITV serial Emmerdale and chaos ensued when characters both programmes were caught up in a horrific car crash on a dark country road.
As part of the build-up, fans were offered the chance to vote for two character they would like to come face-to-face out of pairings of Carla Connor (Alison King) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), Sam Dingle (James Hooton) and Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment), Ross Barton (Michael Parr) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), as well as Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and Roy Cropper (David Neilson).
In the end, Charity and Carla’s scene reigned supreme in the fan vote and viewers got to see the two soap icons interact as they waited by a lift in a hospital. So far, the scene involving Sam and Kirk has been released online but several have issued a demand to bosses to release the remaining extra scenes.
One fan wrote on X: “need them to upload the other scenes that didn’t win the vote now,” whilst another said: “i know we’ve been so spoilt with content already but please may i make one last request to have a reel of deleted scenes? i just know they exist and i need them.”
A third wrote: “Please can we have the other scenes that didn’t win the vote? @itvcorrie @emmerdale I’ve seen one with Sam & Kirk but can we have Nicola & Roy and Ross & Tracy too pleaseBelting individual episodes as well as fantastic #Corriedale last night. Congrats to all involved.”
The short clip with Sam and Kirk sees the pair trying to work out the hospital map, with Kirk telling him: “I gave some people a lift in the van but now I’ve lost them. I need to give them a lift to A&E. You here about the crash?
Sam replies: “Yeah. Aaron were in one of the cars. Charity were in another. I think our Cain’s been shot again.” When Sam tells him that they’re all part of his family – the Dingle clan – Kirk can’t resist poking fun at the name. “Dingle?” he laughs. “You’re called Dingle? Dingle!” However, Sam doesn’t see the humour in it. “There’s nothing funny about it!” he says.
An apologetic Kirk tells him: “No, not at all. Sorry. I should get on. Peanut will be wanting her dinner.” The camera then pans down to show that the Corrie legend had smuggled his pet dachsund into the hospital.
“I’m not sure they’re allowed in here, you know?” Sam warns, before Kirk begins to leave. “It’s a good job I ran into you,” Kirk says. “Someone with smarts.”
Fans can’t get enough of the scene, with many taking to social media to demand for it to be cut into the Corriedale special. “This is hilarious! The combined IQ of a literal peanut,” one viewer wrote.
Another said on Reddit : “Kirk is the only character who would plausibly bring a dog to a hospital!” A third asked: “Why was it deleted, this is amazing!” The chance for viewers to see the alternate scenes is not necessarily outside the realms of possibility. When Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) was murdered in 2014, four separate endings were shot. Whilst it was established in-universe that the killer was Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis), fans did get a chance to see what it may have looked like had it been Carla, Tracy or Peter Barlow when the clips were released online.
