Bold and Beautiful Comings and Goings: RJ Forrester Recast Heading Home To Los Angeles!

A missing in action Forrester is heading back into the fray on The Bold and the Beautiful! The role of Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) MIA son, RJ Forrester, has officially been recast, and the character should pop up soon with a new face — one belonging to soap newcomer Brayan Nicoletti. The actor is replacing Joshua Hoffman, who portrayed RJ from 2023-24.
The Prodigal Son Returns
In December, Laurette Spang McCook, the wife of John McCook (Eric), on Instagram, posted a photo of Nicoletti posing alongside his new on-screen dad, Kaye, as well as his B&B grandfather, McCook, that was taken at the show’s holiday party. The image kicked off speculation that Nicoetti had landed the role of RJ, but the news was not made official until January 2, in an interview with Head Writer Bradley Bell by TV Insider. Bell confirmed the casting, as well as sharing that Sydney Bullock has been signed to a contract in the role of schoolteacher Dylan. He enthused, “We’re at a great time in the show where you have that next generation to play with their core family members.”

RJ was born on screen back in June 20o4 and has been played by a succession of different actors over the years. Daytime Emmy nominee Anthony Turpel, who portrayed him from 2016-18, is his longest-running portrayer, but after he left, RJ remained off camera for five years. Hoffman took over as RJ in April 2023, and was last seen on the show in October 2024.
The character of RJ is an influencer who, in his last go-round, took up with the seemingly sweet and innocent Luna Nowaza (Lisa Yamada), who also caught the eye of RJ’s cousin, Zende Forrester. Unfortunately for both men, Luna turned out to be quite the psycho, and late last year, she died while fleeing from the authorities when she was struck by a car driven by Dylan.
Nicoletti studied acting at the now-defunct Hussian College and appeared in a handful of theater productions at the Los Angeles Center Studios. He also played the role of Anthony in the 2024 film Woodbridge, which was written and directed by Stephen Meier.
