Soap land will never be the same after Coronation Street’s dramatic crossover with Emmerdale according to one star.James Cartwright, who plays Corrie villain Theo Silverton, told The Mirror that fans should expect the unexpected. Speaking exclusively to us ahead of Corriedale airing on January 5, the actor admitted there were moments in the scripts that left him reeling.

He told fans to expects surprises, as we headed “into the unknown”. James said: “There was this rumour, Corriedale, and we wondered what was gonna happen. Then the scripts came in, and there’s moments that will have real far-reaching consequences.

“It will change soap land forever. Soap land will never be the same again because of it. It’s like a meteor coming to Earth. You can take cover but it’s landing!”

Asked about recent events with Theo and the stuff ahead, James went on: “What I will say is that some things are very unexpected and some things you absolutely expect from Theo. It’s a combination of the two.”
