Is ’90 Day Fiance’ Scripted or Fake? Cast Members Reveal If the Show and Couples Are Real

The drama on TLC’s hit reality TV franchise 90 Day Fiancé has always been through the roof, which sometimes leads fans to wonder if the show is actually real, if the storylines are fake, if certain conversations are scripted, if scenes have been staged or if the couples are real people or just actors.
Throughout the years, a few cast members have spoken out about their experience on the series and whether or not they would call it true “reality” TV. The latest instance came in April 2025, when Sam Wilson and Citra Wilson (née Herani) seemingly confirmed that, like other couples on the show, they had to film multiple takes of their airport greeting in 90 Day Fiancé season 10.

In April 2025, TMZ reporter Charlie Cotton captured video footage of what appeared to be a new 90 Day Fiancé couple filming scenes with TLC at LAX airport. In the video, which was shared on Charlie’s TikTok, a man could be seen waving a Brazilian flag as his international girlfriend or fiancée ran into his arms, all while TV cameras filmed the sweet moment. The couple was then seen reshooting their greeting three more times.
“Darn, they’re going for a fourth take,” Charlie could be heard saying in the background.
Sam Wilson and Citra Wilson (née Herani), who made their debut on 90 Day Fiancé season 10, appeared to confirm that this type of seemingly scripted moment happens often on the show by commenting with laughing emojis, “HAHAHAHAHA we can relate.”
TLC did not immediately respond to In Touch’s request for comment.
